Emergency Appeal

Help Stop Home-Start Flintshire From Closing This September

Hundreds of local children and parents are about to lose the lifeline they depend on. We need your help now. Home-Start Flintshire has supported families through their toughest moments for more than 30 years but without emergency funding, we will be forced to close our doors in September 2026.

This would mean no home visiting support, no family groups, no early intervention and no trusted volunteer by the side of parents who are struggling. We urgently need to raise £250,000 to keep our vital service running. Without it, Home-Start Flintshire will disappear.

What Closure Would Mean

If we close in September:

  • Parents facing crisis will have nowhere to turn.
  • Children will lose a trusted, consistent adult who helps them feel safe
  • Families experiencing isolation, mental health struggles and poverty will be left completely unsupported
  • Early intervention work that prevents crisis will stop
  • Volunteers with lived experience, the heart of our service, will no longer be able to help the families who need them most

This is not just the loss of a charity.

Why We Must Fight for Home-Start Flintshire

  • Every week, families contact us because they are desperate.
  • Every week, new parents reach out because they feel alone.
  • Every week, children benefit from a calmer, safer, more nurturing home because a volunteer walked through the door.
  • We step in before crisis escalates.
  • Before a parent breaks down.
  • Before a child’s world becomes unsafe.

If we close in September, those early intervention moments simply will not happen.

Our Emergency Target: £250,000

This funding will allow us to:

  • Keep our home visiting service running
  • Support families before they reach breaking point
  • Sustain and train volunteers with invaluable lived experience
  • Continue our groups like Stay & Play, Bump, Baby & Me and Play & Learn - vital for social interaction, building confidence, with expert support on hand.
  • Prevent isolation, support mental health and give children the best possible start

Every pound helps keep Home-Start Flintshire open.
